Savoring Community When the World Feels Heavy
Between the Minnesota State Fair and the horrible news about what happened at Annunciation School, I've been reminded that we can't do this alone. Savor your community. Notice it. Because community doesn't erase the chaos, but it does make the load lighter.
So lately I've been thinking about how much community really matters. And this week, between the Minnesota State Fair and the horrible news about what happened at Annunciation School here in Minneapolis, I've been reminded that we can't do this alone. I mean, at the fair, there are so many people that seem to come together on a lot of things, even in this extremely divisive time. And sometimes community is your family, but sometimes it's your kids, support staff. Sometimes it's a stranger holding open a gate and stepping aside when you're pushing a stroller.
It can be all of us. Because community doesn't erase the chaos, but it does make the load lighter. So here's your unsolicited advice. Savor your community. Lean into it. Notice it. Because we're not built to do all of this alone.
