My kiddo was sleeping on the basement couch, and I almost woke him up to tell him to move. Then I remembered — the goal was rest, not a mattress commercial. 😴 Everybody woke up happy. Mission accomplished.
Last night, my kiddo decided to sleep on the couch in our basement. Maybe that couch is his version of glamping. But reminder for today, the goal isn't control. The goal is rest and peace.
Last night, my kiddo decided to sleep on the couch in our basement. And my first reaction was, you have a bed that I bought you. What are you doing? And then I stopped, and I asked myself, what is the goal here? The goal is rest. And guess what? He was resting. So I let it go. He slept. I slept. And this morning, everybody woke up happy, which was also the goal. So maybe that couch is his version of glamping. I don't know. But reminder for today, the goal isn't control. The goal is rest and peace.
So pick your battles. And maybe pick your couch, too.
