  2. 1:17This month's Cadre theme is about savoring

This month's Cadre theme is about savoring. Savoring to me really is about slowing down and keeping things simple as well as just honoring kind of like where I'm at. To me, it's really just keeping things really simple.

  3. 6:31Being truly in the moment without technology is a good practice

So let's. You know what helps you savor the moment? Like, maybe it's a really special time you're having with your family. Putting away my camera and simply occupying the moment, that's freeing. Being truly in the moment without the technology is definitely something that, a good practice to get more savoring in our lives.

  4. 8:27Let's dive into getting into our senses with this month's meditation

Getting into our senses. Keep, keep the saver, keep it simple, start slow and use your senses. We've got a whole month for you in store. If you are interested in coaching, please go to our profiles and connect with us.

Foreign Cadre. So delighted to be outside in this beautiful weather. Had to take up the opportunity to enjoy the birds and the fresh air. I know that it's been kind of smoky here. Here. Hi, C. Mercer, 900. Hi Amar. Thanks for joining. It's. It's been kind of smoky here in, in Minneapolis, so taking some time to come out here just to enjoy while I can. Hi, Ros. Yes. Good afternoon to you. Happy August, everyone. I love the beginning of new months. I just, I don't know, there's something about. Hi, Ros.

Hey. I just. There's just something about new beginnings, fresh starts, starting with the number one. And it, it really usually makes me rethink about some priorities, a little bit of reflection, but also, like, how can we go forward? And today or not today, this month's Cadre theme is about savoring. And I love this topic because as I've gotten older, I've really worked hard on trying to slow down. And yes, I know I'm not like in my 70s or anything yet, but I was like a huge go getter and just work.

Go, go, go. Think, think, think. Accomplish, accomplish, accomplish task tasks. And savoring to me really is about slowing down and keeping things simple as well as just honoring kind of like where I'm at. Because simplicity is a gift that I feel like our minds want to make everything so much more complicated than it is. Hey, speak, wonder. And. Yeah, exactly. Savoring is, is just a really great way to come back into the moment, to come back into our bodies, to come back into the situation or circumstance we're at with other people.

And yes, this is my hummingbird feeder and I got my little hummingbird spinner thing, but there's really no wind today, so. Hey, Handy Mac. So, yeah, it is. I don't know if you can hear the birds, but yeah, it's. It's so lovely outside today. I had to. Had to step outside and do this today. So I am embracing my, my savor of appreciating the good weather because it has been a very interesting summer here in Minnesota with all the rain and the wildfires and just the ups and downs. So, yeah, it's. It's been really good.

But yeah. Sarah. Hi, Sarah. Birds, love birds. It is definitely a pastime. I love seeing them and, and I think they're messengers in some way. I think all animals are. They're such, like, beautiful creatures and I love that we get to share this beautiful planet with them. But back to savoring. It's like a practice Right. Like, everything. We have to come back to practice being. Being present with ourselves, being present with our loved ones. And when I started to, like, force myself to slow down, it was when I was really big into my meditation journey just to really get to know myself better, to give myself a break from constantly going, driving, and accomplishing and needing to be X when I'm only at Y.

So it just varies as to. To what we need to stop and pause for a second. Some people are really busy with their families, and it's overwhelming with different circumstances there. Some people are crazy stressed out at work. Some people, like, sometimes it's just hard to go out in public and be around the chaos when in, like, a big group of people, like, at a concert or something. So I always try to notice when I am in that, like, kind of chaotic or frantic energy and mindset, and I just try to, like, pause, practice, and take a breath so that I can come back to this moment.

Come back to the fact that I'm having a beautiful experience at a concert. Come back to the fact that I'm waiting in line to get my groceries in this beautiful store that provides me food and provides all these humans with food. To pause and breathe, to come back to the fact that I have a job. I am working, and it feels really good to contribute, and I'm very grateful I have a job because not everybody has a job where it doesn't stay. And so with so much going on, really, really great to practice this savoring.

And so I'm really pumped about this topic for this month, and I can't wait to see what all the other coaches have to say about it, because to me, yeah, it's really just keeping things really simple. Not getting so wrapped up in the complications our mind can make up and is really unreliable about sometimes and being simple and just going slow, slowing down and using my senses. And so those three things are just kind of my big umbrella of how I like to savor and practice savoring in my life. So let's.

You know what helps you savor the moment? Like, maybe it's a really special time you're having with your family. Maybe it's like you're seeing the most beautiful scenery you've ever seen in a long time, and you're just like, oh, my gosh, this is amazing. Maybe it is the first time that your child walked or said a hilarious word or just something crazy like silly like that, and you're just like, oh, heart, heart warmer. Any of those, like, glimmers is what, what I think the, the trendy word is now is, is glimmers and appreciating it and, and, and savoring it.

And so if you have any of those, I'd love to hear see it in the chat and help spread that, that good joy and first time I'm cooking food. Yeah, Yeah, I love that. Like when you nail a recipe or you just create your own, not even looking at a recipe and the food's actually really good. That's always really helpful. Sometimes I know I cook and I'm just like, I think I missed something, but nonetheless I still eat it. And you learn, you live and you learn. Putting away my camera and simply occupying the moment, that's freeing.

Yeah, that's so true. That can be hard to do sometimes, being connected all the time. And not to say that like photography, like I have a canon and I whip that out every once in a while and it is fun. But being truly in the moment without the technology is definitely something that, a good practice to, to, to get more savoring in our lives. But yeah, let's, let's dive into getting into our senses because I know that this has helped me a lot. And so keeping it simple, going slower and getting into our senses.

Let's just start by like kind of relaxing. Let's practice the third one and just kind of get into our senses of. Okay, we're calming our bodies, we're relaxing our hips. Our feet can be on the floor or cross legged. However, it feels good to you, but you're just relaxing. You're going to notice your tailbone and notice your lower back, your spine, your torso. You're invited to close your eyes if you want. You're feeling your belly rise and fall. Go up into your chest and feel it rise and fall. Feel your upper back, your neck, like C7, that bone that sticks out, that connects your upper back and your cervical spine and neck.

Open and close your jaw, release and kind of, you can move around with your shoulders, feel your face, your cheeks, your eyes, and try to soften your eye sockets. Feel your eyeballs in the sockets and soften them, relax them and feel your whole body. You might notice your heart rate, you might notice any type of like tingling or fluttering or swirling. Perhaps there's some temperature, some heat. You can wiggle your toes, feel your toes and notice the webbing between your toes. When was the last time you thought about the webbing between your toes?

And as you feel your legs, you're just going to kind of continue to cycle through you're going back up, you're going to notice your knees, your thighs, back into the hips, tailbone, lower back, belly, chest, upper back. Noticing all the sensations that are happening in this body part and eventually throughout the whole body. Take a big breath in through the nose, open mouth, exhale, psychological, sigh it out and honor this body. Noticing this temple that you live in and how amazing it is, it functions without you having to do a whole ton.

You don't have to work at pumping your heart, you don't have to work at air going in and out through your, your nose and into your lungs. You can open your eyes and take a swallow, Notice any taste in your mouth. Use your eyes to gaze and orient to the room you're in. Feel what you hear or notice what you hear. You can kind of like touch, give your body some touch, feel your skin and just notice. That's a little bit of how I use senses and a little mini like body scan to come back to myself, come back to my body, back into a calmer version of myself and back into this moment.

Because when I'm living out there in front of me, kind of like how Speak Wonder said, like she's photographed sunsets and then she's just witnessed them. And there's something deeper about just being in the moment without the camera. And so I love that because it is, it's, there's something about witnessing being in our bodies, right? But there's a whole nother side to it when we're witnessing. Hi Rick, I didn't see you there. There's a whole nother side to it when we're actually embodied within ourselves.

Feeling this connection and going inward rather than constantly chasing, going outward onto the next thing. Right? So my goal for you today is I hope that you savored your body and gave your precious temple some, some love. I mean, after all, it's just a loner and it's definitely changing as, as time goes on. But keep, keep, keep the savoring going. We've got a whole month for you in store. Keep, keep the saver, keep it simple, start slow and use your senses. Those, those are my little three bullet points for you.

But with that, please let me know what else you would like to see this month regarding savoring or practice this month. If there's any meditations or yoga. I know Rick will probably have a really cool resilience exercise for us in savoring, so I'm excited about that. And Speak Wonder, she's always just blowing my mind with words of wisdom. Speak wonder. I love. Oh I just got that. Cool. But we would love to have you and if you are interested in any coaching please you know go, go to our profiles and and you can connect with us right away for, for some, some wellness coaching.

But again I'm Bri from attaining alignment. Thank you so much for hopping on today. Excited to continue savoring the moment. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, a lovely Friday. Love you all. Peace.
