If obsessive compulsive disorder is left untreated, it can wreak havoc on your life and lead to several challenges such as increased symptoms. Without treatment, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors can become more severe and frequent, leading to greater distress. It can also have an impact on your daily life. Untreated OCD can significantly interfere with daily activities, including work, school and personal relationship. Even tasks that once seem simple can also feel overwhelming. Untreated OCD may also increase your desire to avoid social situations or activities that trigger your symptoms.

This can lead to loneliness and isolation. Other factors that may happen or occur are emotional distress such as chronic anxiety, frustration, feelings of helplessness, and all of these things can create a decline in your quality of life. And this constant struggle with OCD can diminish your overall life satisfaction and then make it difficult to enjoy hobbies, relationships and everyday pleasures. Also remember there's a risk of co occurring disorders if left untreated. When you have co occurring other mental health conditions such as depression, generalized anxiety disorder or substance abuse, it can make life more difficult than it has to be.

And although there is no known cure for OCD overall, seeking treatment, coming into spaces such as this to help manage and improve your quality of life and get support can help you to lead a more fulfilling life. Don't give up on yourself. Help is available and we're glad you're here.
