  2. 0:45Ask your grief what you are craving, says holistic nurse coach Roshni

Asking your grief and feeling in your body, what am I craving? It can give you the most subtle information that leads you to the best next step for you. We invite you to ask your grief, what are you craving?

What is your grief craving? Have you ever asked it? I wonder, have you ever sat with any of your more intense emotions and asked, what are you needing? How can you feel nourished? Befriending our grief in this way can offer us a gateway to deeper understanding and a more gentle and deeper grief experience. I'm Rebecca. I'm co founder of Marigold and we're a grief wellness platform rooted in storytelling, culture and rituals. I'm a nurse and I work as a neonatal nurse and bereavement care specialist at my hospital.

But I'm also a board certified holistic nurse coach and my co founder, Roshni, is an artist, palliative care nurse and former ICU and transplant nurse. So the two of us have a combined experience of over 20 years in acute care and intensive care nursing, as well as bereavement, palliative care and home care experience. And what we found in our nursing experience was not that grief follows a linear pathway, fitting into stages and phases, but more that grief is like a living, breathing entity that is with you at all times when you're experiencing it.

And we found that tapping into our senses and our body's wisdom, rather than intellectualizing grief and trying to figure out how to get through it faster or even suppressing it so that we don't have to deal with it, tapping into our senses that live within our bodies is a beautiful way to titrate the way that we tend to our grief care. Asking your grief and feeling in your body, what am I craving? It can give you the most subtle information that leads you to the best next step for you. So we invite you to ask your grief, what are you craving?

What do you need from me? How can I nourish you and sit and listen for that answer? It might be something so small like, I need a deep breath, I need a nap, I want a piece of cake. Don't judge the answer, just listen to what comes up and we would love to know, what is your grief craving?
