End of September check in time. Every year at the end of my birth month I look ahead to the next year and make a plan. I'll share what I do in hopes that it inspires you to think critically about your next trip around the sun!
"I had this big dream of getting another dog, and it is hard work. It's, like, full on mom mode. This puppy is into everything. And my poor older dog, oh, my gosh. Welly wants to disown me, but he's doing awesome "
Lukewarm: I decided it was a good idea to get a puppy with about a month's notice. He says he didn't really plan and prepare for this. Lukewarm: It reminded him that preparation is key. Think about how you can be better armed for making your big dreams come true.
Two puppies is just the beginning of making these big dreams of Costas coming true. Believe that you make these hard decisions, because there's a rainbow and a pot of gold on the other side. Happy weekend.
Good morning. I'm in full dog mom mode over here, like, full dog mom mode. So I'll hopefully see a face or two. Jump in. I'm gonna give it a sec. Happy Friday. I've got a puppy at my feet that I'm trying to train, and I've got another one to my right. That's just such a good boy. This poor puppy, I have to watch him like a hawk. But my poor older dog. Oh, my gosh. I had this big dream of getting another dog, and it is hard work. It's, like, full on mom mode. This little hooligan, this honey badger, don't care about anything.
So, anyway, I'll make my message. Good morning, junk food junkie. I have to, like, distract a puppy, do a live stream. Like, how do actual human parents do it? I just want to know, what's the trick? What's the vibe? Because this big dream I had, you guys, I'm all about making my big dreams come true. And now I'm like, what? Dear universe, why did I wish for a puppy? It is hard work. Please send help. Sincerely, desperado. Over here. Anyway, he's really cute, but he is a serious honey badger. He don't care about anything.
And my poor older dog, oh, my gosh. Welly wants to disown me, but he's doing awesome. They're romping. It's the whole thing. But, like, this puppy has peed about a thousand times in my house. Welly never did that. This puppy is into everything. Welly never did that. I'm like, why is the first child the golden child? News flash. I'm the second child. I'm sure my mom wanted to, like, give me away. Um, yeah, I could put him in the crate, and then he's gonna bark the whole time. So we're just gonna roll with it.
This is just how we're gonna do it, because I want my message to be heard. So today I wanted to talk to you about, like, just where I'm at with September, and I got one growling at me. No, it's gonna be a whole thing, you guys. But nope. I know he's not happy because the puppy, the bone. Come here, you guys. This whole parent thing is no joke. Come here. I'm gonna throw the ball for one. I'm gonna give the bone to the other. It's gonna be a whole thing. So, anyway, I just wanted to say, you know, we have these dreams and visions for getting our things done, checking things off the list.
Like, all the things my life fell apart this month, I decided it was a good idea to get a puppy with about a month's notice. I didn't really plan and prepare. I've been wanting this to come true for so long. It finally came true, and I realized I did no preparation for this. In my head, I was like, yeah, this is gonna be awesome. But, like, the preparation didn't happen, and it really made me think about the importance of preparing for these big things to happen in your life. And I know that some things will just kind of come up out of nowhere, and things will happen, and you'll finally see your checklist start to come to fruition or your journaling, your big dreams, your future gratitude list, whatever it may be.
But, holy cow, was I not prepared. And it just reminded me that preparation is key. I built a whole business on being prepared. Rescue kit company is about arming people for the things that could go wrong and the preparation that I didn't do for this dog going into the busiest season of my life. I have so many weddings this month that I'm working. I have so much happening. I am, like, I just have a lot of transition happening in my life. So to think about the fact that, like, I didn't actually prepare for this dog is so not like me, but this is life, right?
And this is just the reality of the situation sometimes. So now I'm on defense instead of offense, and I don't like being in that place. But I think that if there's one thing that I can learn from all of this, it's that, oh, my gosh, Chanel's growling because she hears welly. If there's one thing that I can learn, it's like, don't waver on your skills and your. The things that you have practiced your whole life, which is preparation. Don't waver on that and really weigh your pros and cons and think about the things that are happening and how to prepare for them.
So you are on offense and not defense because I sank this month. I totally sank, which is just not like me, and I don't have any help. So I love this new dog. But before you get your second puppy or aka start your side hustle or whatever it is, add that thing to your plate. Really think about preparing, doing the homework, doing the research. What's up, Luke? And think about how you can be better armed for making your big dreams come true. And I know, like I said, some things just are going to happen, and you're going to have to go with it.
It. But, like, how are you arming yourself with the right tools? And how are you preparing yourself for those situations so you can kick some serious b***? Because right now my b*** got kicked. As opposed to kicking b***, the defense that I'm playing instead of offense, it really is hard, but I'm gonna just roll with it. I'm gonna do the best that I can. I've got this puppy on a leash right now. He's really upset with me. He hasn't really been leashed. But I'm reading all the books and all the doing all the trainings and thinking about all the things that I should have probably done in the month of time that I had leading up to getting him.
But you guys, life, businesses, things, I don't. I don't want to say I didn't have time because that's a cop out. There's always time, right? Maybe I shouldn't have binged a tv show one night and I should have read some puppy training because it's been five and a half years. Choose your time wisely. Do your research. You always have time. It's like an extra stomach for dessert. There's always time. You just have to make it and create it. I didn't do that. So this big dream that I wanted of having a puppy is a reality now.
And the reality is that it is so hard. And now my time isn't going toward business development necessarily for my company. It's going toward wrangling this honey badger because he is a badge. He is a full on badge. Anyway, that's all. I love you guys so much. I've scheduled out my lives with the exception of one that I won't be able to be at in October. m. m. Pacific time. So I love you guys. Thank you for being here. Thank you for engaging with me. You want to say hi? I know you're going crazy.
This honey badger, he doesn't care. You want to say hi? This wiggle worm, this wiggle worm, this little tiny honey badge, two puppies is just the beginning of making these big dreams of Costas coming true. Thanks, Luke. Cause, like, right now, I'm like, what the heck was I thinking dreaming this big dream? And I've had it for, like, three years. I've wanted another dog for a long time, but, like, why did I want that? My perfect life with my perfect first dog. Just kidding. Nothing's perfect. Believe that you make these hard decisions, because there's a rainbow and a pot of gold on the other side.
I do believe that. And they're already, like, exhausting each other, which is really nice. So, anyway, don't not do the big dream. Just prepare for the big dream if you can. Okay? I love you guys so much. I hope you have a great day. Happy weekend. I'm gonna go try to inject coffee into my body and go kick some b*** and try to play some offense instead of some defense today. Love you guys.
