A brief closing mentioning the speaker's 23rd anniversary and a friendly weekend signoff.
All righty, everybody. I am just coming back in from playing some volleyball and then walking my dog. So hey, there you go. That's what we do when we have a nice full life and we're blessed to have a full life. And thank God for a very full life. And that's all I can say, man. And it's it's the energy and the spirit of cadre that really kind of reinforces why the work is worth it, why it's important to not do it alone. And my title today is Help. I Need Somebody. Obviously taken from the Beatles song, Help.
I need, you know, whatever. Help. I like suddenly forgot the song. But it's like I was listening to a guy this morning at one of my meetings, right? And he was saying like, by far the most significant thing that he has learned to do as a man, but just to really help him is to ask for, not just ask for, this is really critical, right? To ask for and accept help. This is something I talk about all the time. Guys especially are really good at offering help. I'll give you help. I'll help you. I'll help solve your problem.
I'll help give you answers that you're looking for. But oh my, It is a much different level of vulnerability to ask for help and to accept the help, right? Because we can ask for help all day. We can, I mean, if you get to the point where you're able to do that, that's pretty cool, right? Hey, would you mind helping me with this? Hey, what do you think about this? I was thinking about doing this. I was thinking about saying this to my partner. I was just had this interaction with my daughter and I was thinking this.
Okay, so that's the asking for help, checking in with people. But What about when they say something that doesn't quite align with what I was wanting them to say? What about when they say something that, kind of, that hits kind of hard. What about when they tell me the truth and they don't spare my feelings and they don't co-sign my BS? You know, that can happen when we ask for help. The other thing though that can happen as we ask for help is we don't have to do it alone. We don't feel like we have to do it alone.
We don't feel alone. And what a relief it is. There are so many people still walking around this world today thinking that they have to do it on their own, thinking that they are alone, thinking they have to figure it out for themselves. They don't know how to ask for help. They don't really ask for help. And that is a travesty. because they don't know how much easier their life would be if they just did that. Get past the ego, get past the shame, get past the vulnerability and just do it. Just ask for help.
I've been doing this practice a long, time and I am happy to say it's fairly easy for me to ask for help. Doesn't mean I always do it, doesn't mean there's not some blind spots that I don't have. but I got people in my life who will even help me see those blind spots. And that is a huge, huge gift. So that's it, man. This is your assignment today. Just today. Ask for help one time and accept that help however you need to. And if asking for help is easy for you, then ask for help in the next two days at a time where you really don't want to.
And maybe, as a bonus, don't offer help when nobody's asked for it. Don't offer help even when you think it's completely necessary. You're going to save the day. Let it go. One opportunity to just let it Go. So there you go. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. And it is my 23 year anniversary with my amazing wife, partner, spouse, soulmate, lover, and looking forward to having some really great time with her. All right, y'all. Happy Saturday in the Quadra Sphere.
