Alright, hi cadre. I just wanted to hop on here after the end of a work day to talk a little bit about work-life boundaries. I'm sitting out here at a park right next to a lake. Got a tree right on my back. Very pretty view. Very tranquil. And I was just thinking about how important it really is to have clear boundaries between when you're working and when you're not. And this is definitely something that I personally really struggle with sometimes and I like to do things and get things done per se but I can really easily find myself in a spiral constantly trying to do the next thing the next thing the next thing over and over and over and I often find myself in a not the best place, and that really leaves me burnt out.
I feel not very creative, and I just get really low and honestly feel a bit just sad. And After doing some journaling, I realized like a big part of the root of this is, wow, I really need to prioritize my work-life boundaries because work is exactly that. It's work. You also have your life and your life is the whole point, but it can be so easy to get caught up in whatever our career goals may be, whatever we're doing. in our nine to five or whatever it may be. But there's that life piece and we're doing the work in order to fuel that life piece.
And the life piece is really what it's all about. And so something that I started doing was booking in those life pieces into my schedule like they are very important meetings because that is exactly what they are. It's a very important meeting with yourself, for yourself. And it might seem contradictory, but when you allot yourself the time to spend time doing the hobbies that you enjoy, going to the places that fill you up, spending time with your friends and loved ones, taking time to try something new that you've always been wanting to.
It gives you fuel to actually do better in your work life and in all other areas of your life. So If it helps to think about it in this way, spending time doing the things that you love and that are important to you is actually productive. Those things are so critical in so many different ways. And I personally will always tend to push it off because I'll feel like, oh, I love, so for example, I love drawing and I love art and painting and I will trick myself sometimes and push those things off because I'll tell myself, oh, those things aren't productive.
But deep down, I actually know that when I do those things and when I give myself that permission slip to do those things that bring me so much joy, It fills up my cup so much so that I go back the next day feeling way more productive than if I would have neglected that from myself. So yeah, this is your permission slip to give yourself that gift of spending time to do your hobbies and creating strong boundaries between when you're working and when you're actually doing life. Giving yourself the permission to just be, to just exist.
And you know, as soon as I hop off of this live today, I am going to set my phone down. I'm not even gonna bring my headphones. I'm gonna drop these off at the car and I'm just gonna go for a walk. I'm taking the views around me, the beautiful nature, the sunshine, the lake and see just how pretty it is. I'm really just going to take a moment to take it all in and just be. All right. I wish you all a fantastic rest of your day and I'll see you soon.
