How we doing everybody? It's Luke Wentland here. Happy Monday. Happy Monday to you and yours. How was everybody's 4th of July? We'll give it a minute here while y'all come in. Happy Monday to you and yours. Can you even believe that we're already past the 4th of July? This is insane. It's insane how fast it's gone. Good morning, Christy. Good to see you virtually and always and always. Good to see everybody. Good morning, good morning, good morning. What is up? What a great day. Phenomenal start.
We know how to do it. That's for darn sure. So we are on the track. And so we left from Stillwater, Minnesota last Monday. So we're a week into this bad boy. Last Monday is very different weather than today. So last Monday, it was ridiculously hot. I mean, you're talking a buck 10 walking. It was unbearable. So here we are and I just want to show you this. We are officially, just wait for it, we're in Duluth. We're in Duluth, Minnesota. Here we are, the biggest freshwater lake in the world. Let's go.
So there's the depot. Here's the library. We're just taking a little breather. The lift bridge. And then we get the most amazing stretch ever. the most amazing walking stretch ever. We get to go the northwest angle, north, excuse me, the northeast angle of Minnesota. This is going to be just downright epic. And I know that we're going to have some folks joining us, which we're really excited about. So what did I learn in the first week so far? What did I learn? Number one, everything is hard until it's not.
Meaning, you know, you start in your walk, you start walking, your feet hurt, your back hurts, Your arms hurt, everything just kind of hurts. And then all of a sudden it just doesn't anymore. So what I've learned from that is like when you're working out for the first time, maybe it's Pilates, maybe it's your first 5K, maybe it's getting up off the couch and going for that first walk around the block. Things hurt until they don't. So always remember that. That's #1. Things hurt until they don't.
Number 2, hydration is your friend. and you cannot drink enough water, like period. That first day at 110 degree weather, I drank such an absurd amount of water and I still had the most epic headache that I've ever had in my life. It just felt like a migraine. It just kept throbbing and throbbing and throbbing. It was just utterly insane. So that's another one is, you know, you just can't drink enough water. And I think that just kind of goes to show for, you know, just in life in general, like just drink as much water as you can.
It's good for your system acts as like a lubricant. Right. And then one thing that I would also add is like the world answers. I got to be careful when I say this because I the the world I'm not saying like answers your prayers, but I think you can manifest things at an epic level and So here's an example. My son's birthday, 4th of July. I came back down to visit my son, hang out for the 4th of July, amazing time with my family. Drove right back up with the sound or whatever. And all of a sudden I heard some like god-awful noises in the back of the, so I have the van.
You guys have seen the van before. I'll show it to you real quick just to make sure you all can see this. So we got the van right over there. Right, so you see the van, the Cadre van? Well, it doesn't have the sauna behind it because guess what? The leaf spring broke on it. And so I was like, oh my God, you gotta be kidding me. So I managed to just get it into Duluth. And I'm pulling into Duluth and this guy's name's Dave. And sweet Davey boy has been helping me on this thing since 9 o'clock last night.
m. He's like, I got you. We're gonna bring it over to Parker's. Parker's repair, the guy needs to talk to Spencer, we got you, it'll be fine, done and done and done. And it's just, it's shocking how like doing good in the world sends good back to you. So that's my last one, is if you continue to do good and you send good vibes and you have good energy and you're helping other people, man, I'm telling you like this world has its way of hitting you back with it. in order to answer some of your prayers or suggestions or manifestations that you have.
And I'm like, I got to get this thing fixed. Is it possible to have some whatever? m. last night. He's like, I was just checking on my work before the work was ready. I, you know, just stopping in on a Sunday night and what are the odds? This guy now has just turned into my fast friend, sweet Davey boy. So find your Dave today. My gut is he's out there waiting or she's out there waiting to want to help and support. so long as you're always sending good vibes and all the things out to the world too.
So with that, I just want to say we are off and running and this next stretch is going to be like off the charts. So we leave, of course, we went from Superior, Wisconsin, walk Superior, Wisconsin, finish that stretch off. Landed in Duluth here and then we leave from Duluth and then we're about I'd say about a mile away from starting on the North Shore Trail and then that North Shore Trail goes all the way up to Canada and it's probably like I'd say 150 170 miles somewhere on that ballpark all the way up to Grand Portage, but it'll be just the most epic stretch when you hear things like Tetaguchi Tetaguchi Tetaguchi you hear Bluefin Bay, Lutzen, Tofte, Grand Marais, all these cities along the way.
Two Harbors, French River. Like this is just an epic, epic cruise. Gooseberry Falls. There's so many amazing things along this stretch. Betty's Pies. Enjoy every step. Beautiful country. It sure is, Christy. What up, bro? It's so good to see you buddy. I just love you man. Talk about an incredible person right there. You've inspired me with some text messages back and forth of you talking about going after that big 100 mile run. So I'm going to try to figure out a way to get another one back on the books for myself.
Everybody have a wonderful week. For those individuals that are kind of wondering where we're at and what's going on, I know Jason has some updates that he is sending out to the world. I'm going to continue to live stream more frequently instead of just on Mondays right now. So I might do like 2 * a week, three times a week just for updates and some things I've learned because I don't want to wait an entire week and then like one day, you live so much in one day when you're on these walks. you get rocking, right?
30, 7 in the morning. m. at night and it's like, oh man, I have so much I want to share to the world and I don't want to wait a week. So I think I'm going to lock and load a few extra sessions here so long as my internet is good. So, you know, the choppiness of the internet sure is insane. That's another, that's #4 I've learned. If you are not on a big major, you know, freeway, etc like the rest of the world's internet around the the smaller cities communities townships etc is not great but all right you all have a wonderful week I hope you and your families had a wonderful 4th of July we sure did I can't believe my son is 13 years old I have a teenager shocking so you all take care thank you for joining I love you all peace bye-bye
