  1. 0:00Morning walk and coffee

Luke opens the video, explains he's a little late, and takes viewers on a brief walk to highlight a favorite downtown Minneapolis coffee shop and barista. This friendly intro sets a casual tone and grounds the talk in real-life routine.

  2. 0:57Weekly review ritual

Luke explains that each Sunday he spends about an hour planning his week meeting by meeting, preparing goals and expectations. He introduces his ‘yellow book’ as the central tool he uses to capture everything—journal, work notes, and calendar all in one.

  3. 2:13Importance of preparation

Luke points out that a large percentage of people don't actually know what they'll accomplish during the week and makes the case that preparation is essential to becoming a change agent. He introduces the idea of identifying a small set of key weekly goals (the 'big three') to live more intentionally.

  4. 3:37Plan then execute

Luke stresses that ‘magic doesn’t just happen’ and that anyone can spend an hour preparing on Sunday to be ready for the week. He uses a spaghetti-cooking analogy to illustrate how knowing all the ingredients and timing produces a predictable, successful outcome.

  5. 4:56Define Friday success

Luke challenges viewers to know what a successful Friday looks like before the week begins and shares his own critical meetings and priorities as examples. This section helps viewers translate planning into concrete weekly targets and commitments.

  6. 5:43Closing challenge and farewell

Luke asks viewers whether they are truly prepared for the week and encourages them to return to planning if not, then offers well wishes and closes the session. The brief wrap-up reinforces the main call to action to plan intentionally.

Good morning everybody. It's Luke Wendlandt here. I'm just a few minutes behind. Supposed to be always 8:00 o'clock, but I had to drop my daughter off for basketball this morning. She's at a basketball camp. Somebody's somebody's getting upset this morning and honking at people, but that's what happens when we go live here at Cadre. You never know. So again, my name is Luke Wendland. I've been here at day one since day one. Like I said, it was just dropping off my daughter at basketball camp this morning, so I'm a little bit behind the eight ball.

I want to share one of my loves that I have here in downtown Minneapolis. It is the Caffeine Coffee Company. I'm just gonna, there's their Vietnamese coffee, 7 to 3 right here. There's the spot, Jeremiah. We'll wave to Jeremiah. He's like the best person ever, the best barista that you'll ever find. Happy Monday, Sue. Happy Monday to all. So just doing a little walk and talk here, but I just want to share that I think one of the greatest separators in this life is, I've talked about this before, but every Sunday night I spend about, so last night I dropped off my son at soccer.

45. And I just go through my entire week. I literally go through meeting by meeting. I prepare for each meeting. I'm like, what do I have? What's going on? What do I have Monday through Friday? What do I have with the team? What do I have individually? And then what's more is like, what is my goal of the week? Like what is my goal of the week? So what am I trying to accomplish? What do I wanna get done? How am I gonna move the business? How am I gonna be a good dad? How am I gonna be like, you know, combining those things so it's like you live completely on purpose.

completely on purpose. And I'm telling you, this doesn't take hours and hours and hours of work. It took me one hour, hour and 15 minutes, right? So I just, I went through my list. I have my yellow book. If everybody knows me, they know my yellow book. My yellow book has everything in it. I write down everything. It's like my journal slash business work slash calendar all in one. I live for it. And so if you are struggling with like your weeks and you feel like You don't really know if you're moving the needle or making progress.

I'm gonna tell you like, odds are you just don't know what you're doing. And what I mean by that is like, there's so many people that if you ask them on Sunday, what are you doing on Monday? They're gonna say, well, I'm going to work. Or I know I'm going to work. But what are you actually doing this week? Here's the crazy part. I would submit to you, I would say 80% of those individuals, 80% of those individuals actually don't know what they're really doing that week. 80%, truly, I'm not joking when I say this, like how are you really moving the needle?

What are you doing for yourself? What are you doing for your family? What are you doing for your job? How are you gonna become a change agent? And if you want to become a change agent, I'm telling you it starts with preparation. So that preparation on Sunday to say, all right, here's my big three. These are the goals. This is what I look to accomplish. This is what I need to get done. This is why I need to get it done. It's like living on purpose is so intentional. 1% better. I love you Craig says, I have a lavender book.

You got lavender, I got yellow. But you know what I'm saying. It's pivotal in order to proverbial move the needle. Okay? So Magic doesn't just happen. Magic doesn't just happen. You have got to prepare. You've got to be prepared and you've got to like then take your preparation and take it to the next level to go execute. Okay? And here's the best part. Anybody can do it. And anybody can spend an hour on Sunday and get yourself set, ready to go, that you are set, prepared for your week. You know what you're doing on Monday, you know what you're doing on Tuesday.

Look, I know the individuals that kind of like throw the shit together and put the ingredients together while they're making the meal. And I'm just gonna tell you, it doesn't really bode well. You need to know what it is you're actually cooking to. You need, yes, it's like, yes, I know I'm making spaghetti, but like when I know I'm making spaghetti and I know I have the meatballs, I know I have sausage, I know I have the oregano, I know I have the great Parmesan cheese, and I know I have all the things, I gotta put it in for 15 minutes here, do 10 minutes here, 5 minutes more, I rest assure you, will know exactly what it's gonna look like when this is done.

It's gonna taste good, it's gonna feel good, it's gonna do all the things. How can you get to the point where you almost know, it's like building a plane while you're flying. She's exactly right. How can you get to the point where you almost know what a Friday success looks like before you start the week? That is my challenge. What does Friday success look like before the week starts, right? So I can tell you mine, right? So I have three individuals that I'm meeting with that are really important.

I have this awesome sauna session. I got some things that I have that are critical to our success. I have pulse meeting on Monday, pulse meeting on Friday. These are the things I want to excel at. These are the things I want to make a difference with. And so like, what is it that you are going to make a difference with? What are your goals? How you want to get there, okay? So I'm flipping this back on you to say, are you prepared for this week? Are you really prepared for this week and do you know what you're going to try to accomplish?

If you don't, let's go back to the drawing board. Have an amazing week, you guys. Thank you for joining in. Love you all. Like I said, live for this on Mondays. Thanks for being here. What a great day.
