Hello, hello, hello everyone and happy Thursday to you. Welcome to this Thursday, slightly later than usual edition of Comedy Through the Chaos. I am Miss Shannon. I'm a variety of word related things like a comedian, a corporate speaker, an event MC, which is where I'm at today, and a benefit auctioneer and a... Oh, what else am I? Other stuff, other stuff. That is all the stuff that I am by trade. But by just hanging out with you here on our Caregiver Thursday, I'm also the proud parent of an adorable 18-year-old kiddo who happens to be high supports on the autism spectrum.

So I'm always happy to join you with hopefully a little bit of caregiver comedy through the chaos perspective. Today I'm at one of my favorite events that I consider one of my corporate clients. It's an event called Angel Fest. And so it's a conference that has a lot of information for people who are interested in being angel investors. And so this is the fifth year that I've done this event. And one of the things I think is really interesting about this is that you talk to a lot of different founders and people who are at different stages of trying to get their business up and running, but then also people who are in a position to support different organizations were able to support different types of businesses and type of things that might be able to do a lot of things like very similar to the kind of people that probably helped support CADRE as it was getting up and running.

And being in a room full of people who are interested in supporting different types of companies regardless of where they are in their phase of that whole life cycle. I think it's really interesting because it's also kind of similar to what we just do as human beings as we are trying to figure out how to build our personal support systems. And there's different people that may come across. into your support cycle at different parts of where you are in the journey. So maybe you've been doing this for a while and you just need somebody that pops in and tells you you're doing a good job.

Maybe there's somebody that's working with you at the very beginning of the life cycle of where you are in this caregiver journey and they know that they might be in it with you for the long haul as you're developing your skills, developing what you do as a support person and those kind of things. Or maybe it's somebody that you end up meeting somewhere there in between and they're the person that you know what I can remember where you're coming from and I'm willing to be here to help you get where it is that you're going.

And that's a lot of what we need is that it's okay for people to pop it in different places along that cycle. It's okay for you to go hey, I need to take a minute to figure out where I am right now. Is this that moment where I'm like, you know what, maybe I'm closer to the end of the cycle, depending on what it is. I've really figured out what my support system is, but I just need a little boost every once in a while. Or maybe you're at the beginning where you go, you know what, I have so many questions, I don't even know where to start.

And hopefully, Regardless of where you are, you have somebody, maybe it's one of us here in cadre, that help you go, even if you don't know where you're at, we're willing to sit here with you and help you workshop it and help you figure out what it is that you need right now. And that's a lot. It's a lot sometimes to just admit that that's something that you may need or something that's appropriate for you to even go, I'm the one that's supposed to be helping somebody else. I don't know if I'm supposed to ask somebody else for help.

And I will answer that question for you. Yes, you are. It's okay for you to ask somebody else for help because maybe you need a little boost and hopefully we can help do that for you as well. I will apologize slightly. I try not to apologize for things that were outside of my control, but I'm gonna apologize for not joining you for last week's edition to Comedy Through the Chaos. But this is my busy, as far as work stuff goes, my busy time of year because It's spring gala and event season. So what I end up as a caregiver backing myself into the corner of is I say yes to everything and I think I can do a lot of this stuff when I don't necessarily give myself enough space to refuel and refresh and to reset.

And so last week I was in lovely Moscow, Idaho. doing a keynote, and I was gonna try and fit this livestream in before I hit the stage to do the keynote. And you know what? It didn't work out that way. And I felt really guilty about missing all of y'all and not doing that. But you know what? I'll make up for it on Saturday, which I did that Saturday, and I knew that you would understand, and you did. So if you have those moments in your life where you're like, is somebody gonna understand that I needed some of this time back?

Yes, I release you from that guilt. I do have every intention of here. I'm going to show you the sign hopefully of where I'm at. Doesn't that look lovely? We're at Huntington Bake Stadium. So normally there's football and such here at EU of M, but today we're grooving. m. Central here for the parenting edition and the weekend edition of Comedy Through the Chaos. And I encourage you to really just sit with this particular homework. Where do you think you are in your particular support cycle? And what kind of help do you need?

Do you need somebody to help you go, how do I set myself on the path? Do you need somebody to sit there and go, hey, I've been doing this for a while and I just need somebody to help me go, is today the day I need to take a break because you feel like you've got most of this thing handled? Or are you somewhere in the middle and you need somebody to do a little bit of all of those things along the way? So think about where that is so we can make some tailored asks to help build your support system.

something I got to remind myself to do all the time. And when in doubt, always let us know what we can do here in the cadre sphere to continue to build the support system for you so that when you're in that midst and you want to go ahead and search through and find out what you can do and if there's somebody else dealing with the same things you are, we want to make sure that some of that content is here for you. So check out all of the contributors that we have and let us know what we can do to continue to support you.

And so I hope that the day is treating you well. If it's not shame on it, not shame on you. I'll see you guys on Saturday.
