Hello, it's Friday and it's beautiful here. I'm super excited. How are you doing today? Cadre? Hope. This is a um, lovely time for you. If you're watching this. Later or live, um, I want to spring forth with spring, if you will. (laugh). And I want to, Hey, Rachel. How you doing? I really need to put lipstick on. I'm sorry. It's bad. (laugh) kind of love chapstick. Um, how was my trip? Ugh. It was so great. I'm gonna do like a. Special thing for Japan. It, it owns, it deserves its own. Special thing.

So, um, but I will say. Culture was amazing. Everything I saw was amazing. Hero Shima. The museum changed my life. (laugh). And, um, yeah, I really want to. Um, go back. I feel like I barely scraped the surface. Even though it's a tiny little island. It's still. A magnificent ginormous. Um, country. So, um, I loved the temples and the shrines. I did a lot of meditating and praying while I was in Kyoto. And, um, like I said, Hiroshima was just like, eye-opening and terrible metaphor, but, um, yeah, world peace, baby.

I believe in it. I've got my, uh, Gracie Lou free Bush on after that, like peace for all. No nukes. No more. Hiroshimas (laugh). Um, but yeah, I will definitely, I'm gonna share some posts from there. It was just my ISIM didn't work well while I was over there. So, um, if you're going to Japan, I don't recommend using Arlo. Um Lessler but. But, um, yeah, super, super excited to be back. I feel. A lot of grace. For our, um, I don't wanna get into the political side of things, but anyway, I, um, I just feel a lot more grounded and grateful.

To, um, have experienced that and learn what I learned and. My goal is to be less loud. (laugh) I realized how obnoxiously loud I am. So. Um, that is gonna be part of me lightening the load. Because everywhere I went, it was. Beautiful and silent. And, um, very, everyone's very respectful. And I just noticed my octane wanted to go up really high (laugh). And granted I'm a teacher and I'm meant to vocalize to project, uh, out and speak and teach. However in the public setting, I don't need to do that.

(laugh). Um, so today's topic is lightening the load, but first I wanna check in with you and see how are you doing? What is either a number or maybe an emotion. Or a um, you know, feeling that is stirring up inside. You can share or um, if, if you're curious, where I'm at. Um, I am feeling um, a little scattered and, uh, I'm gonna work on it this weekend. I'm gonna get more grounded this weekend. So. Lightning the load. Biggest thing with that be less Laos is so less loud is so loaded for me. Yeah.

I. You know, in every other American tourist was loud too. So I was just like, you know, we don't need to do that. So that is gonna be part of me. Lightning my load. And the reason I wanted to talk about this and have this be the topic today. Is because we're in spring, we're in Kafa season. Which is like earth, water, energy. Everything is, is growing from, from the ground up. Um, and earth earth is very heavy energy. It's. It's very, um, it can be dark and cold. And, uh, uh, I call this sleepy season.

Like (laugh), I, I, uh, have been sleeping a lot. I know a lot of people up in just more tired and, and drained down. And it's also because it's a great time to detox our systems. We are in the season of the liver. Um, for some Chinese medicine people and we are in the season of Kafa for Ayurveda and both of those things are pretty heavy energy, both together. So, um, starting with letting go. The biggest thing, uh, or lightning our load. Is, we have to evaluate what. What are we carrying? What are we holding?

Onto or what are we doing that maybe isn't serving us anymore? And I always think of like a heavy load of the book, the things we carry. I think it's by Tim O'Brien I think, but he just goes on and on about all the things that they carried. And sometimes I feel like that is. How this season feels for me where it's just like, okay, I gotta do this. And then I'm sorry I get to do this. But on top of that, I must finish this and then we can do that, blah, but you know, everything just kind of stacks on each other.

It's a really busy season for graduation, for spring cleaning for. Just seasonal change, starting things that are brand new. And we want to show up as our best selves all every day and all the times of year. Um, but letting go has to. Happen for us to start something new. Um, I would say a majority of the time ha is helpful when you're starting something new. And so take some time to ask yourself what isn't serving me. What. Am I maybe continuing to do. And, um, I picture the backpack of rocks. We keep walking with it yet.

Most of the rocks aren't even ours to worry about. Yes, totally. Especially with like conditioning and familial. Roles and expectations. And all of that. So that's part of purging and detoxifying that too. On top of this is just a great way to kind of reset your body. Reset your gut. Reset your, um, morning routine, perhaps. And, uh, really, really start to tune into like, okay. I feel I may feel heavy. But like what is causing me to feel heavy for me? It's my work. It's a, it's just like, you know, and so I've had to reevaluate.

I gotta do something about that because it's been going on for too long. And so when we figure out the pattern and sometimes it's a pattern, like sometimes it's just like, I wanna be a princess and sleep today, you know? And I know that doesn't serve me because I always do better when I wake up and go for a walk and work out versus sleeping in. But I've been. Back re reverting back to some old ways. And so it's just part of. Learning and taking inventory so that I know. Okay. I can let go of this.

This is not serving me. So, number one, what is serving what isn't serving us? Which leads to number two, we gotta let it go. And we gotta say no, we can't always be everything to everyone all the time. And part of why we feel so heavy is because we're taking on too many things from all the different arenas of life. Work family. Um, personal growth and, uh, health, right? Like it's a lot to be a human these days. (laugh), you know, we gotta, we got chores. We gotta pay bills. We have to. Provide for ourselves.

We have to provide for our family. We have, you know, there's, there's so many things that. Are are heavy in general, just. In the world. Old responsibility is being a really big one. And, um, being able to. Let go of that regularly. Like, um, Rachel use the backpack of rocks. Like, can we just like, okay right now, this kind of things I have to endure this as my. Caretaking responsibility. Can I put this rock? Can I just let go of one rock today? Let it go or the person that triggered me on the internet.

Can I let go, uh, or. My, um, family member is really causing me chaos. And inner turmoil. Can I accept reality that it's happening and can I let it go? And can I say no that no, I don't want to help you. Move, but I'll gladly send over a DoorDash. So that you can have, uh, food and pizza when you get there, you know, or whatever it might be. So saying no. And letting go. That will help us keep our load somewhat even. The last one I have for you is. Lighten up now. I know that size sounds really easy and.

It's not, it's very difficult in application. Um, especially when you're feeling. Down and low. And so it's it's like, I guess I should have started with my personal story. But my personal it's I've been on vacation. I am only human. Um, I was very depressed as a kid, like. Kind like nine years old going on all these medications and like, this didn't work and just cycling through all the way until I was in my twenties. Twenties. And so I've always felt heavy. And because depression is a heavy. Thing and, um, I really had to kind of train my brain.

To look at the positive side of things I had, I wrote it in a gratitude journal every single day, 10 things I was grateful for because I had to, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. Right. That's the only. A big reason why people actually change. And I had to learn to lighten up. I had to learn to let go. I had to learn to say no to things. Um, I had to learn to. Like, is this actually helpful for me? And I hope that by taking just a minute, just that one minute, because sometimes the first thought is the best thought, because if it's top of mind, it'll come right out.

Or if it's affecting you the most, it'll be the first thing to that's on the surface that you can just scrape and go through. So ask yourself. What is not serving me anymore. What can I let go of. Or say no to and in what, how can I like. Lighten up. How can I kind of just like get outta my nitty gritty. And into something a little bit more helpful, whether it's gratitude. Whether it's, um, a positive affirmation. Watching a comedy, um, I save really funny reels that I just love that are like my go, like every time I, you, you don't get 'em as often as, as we used to, but like this one girl is on a kneeboard and this fish comes up and like hits her and it's slow motion.

I'm know it's painful, but I used to kneeboard as a kid. And so it just, it. Makes me laugh so much. Like I'll watch it like three times and I just like am dying. I'm dying and, uh, that helps me I'm immediately elevated. So. What are some things that you can do that will elevate you? That will get you laughing. That will get you just to lighten up because. You know what we are tiny little dots and the, and the speck of nowhere. If the earth blew up tomorrow. Nothing would change. And that's the, the harsh reality.

We are a miracle and we are nothing at the same time. So. Um, we, we can't take it too seriously, despite all the crazy seriousness that's going on. Is that serving us, right? Maybe we need to hold back on some news. Maybe we need to. Um, chill and like spend more quality time with people and less amount of time on our phones, whatever it's. My, my ask of you today is. Just take that minute. What isn't serving me anymore? What can I let go of or say no to. And how can I lighten up? What, what have I been kind of like negative naing about.

Rachel says, along with that, not taking myself so seriously and laughing at my own ridiculous list. Heck. Yeah. Yes. That is so true. And. It like that gets me so far. Cuz sometimes I'm. I'm not in it to win it some days. And the days that I am, I am laughing at my own ridiculousness and. Just taking it, not taking it too seriously, but. Um, but yeah, that's, that's what I have for you. Um, if you feel heavy, know that this is just a season. It's it will get butter as we get into summer. Things will change.

Like that's the beauty of four, four seasons. Seasons. Um, it's always evolving and changing just as, as we are. So. You know, keep, keep up the. The mentality keeps showing up on cadre. I know that I've seen some great lives lately and. Um, it's, it's been fun because cadre alone will just seeing somebody's live will kind of perk me up in, in the right direction. So. Um, so yeah, thanks for bearing with me for 14 solid minutes. (laugh) I'll, I'll get better as I, as I come back into the groove of things, but.

Appreciate you and um, I hope that you have a great weekend, a great mother's day. Happy mother's day. If you are one. And if you, um, are going to. Go celebrate. I hope you get to do some wonderful things. And if they're in heaven, then I hope you get to honor them in a special way that, um, makes makes you feel good inside. So. Have a great day. Always. Good to see you, Rachel. And, uh, I'll end with my usual in these weird four seconds.
