Our minds are powerful. Let’s discuss how a simple shift in suffix makes a difference
The host opens the session with greetings, notes the date, and introduces herself and the topic of limited versus limitless mindsets while sharing a few personal items (a crystal and her dog) to set a warm tone.
The host leads a short, slow breathing practice, asks viewers to notice where they feel the breath, and uses the sensations to illustrate how space opens up for mindset work between feeling limited and limitless.
She recounts her seventh grade experience of using gifts to form friendships and connects that to her adult impulse to help others break barriers and believe in their potential, acknowledging how this can both support and unintentionally stifle growth.
The host examines a morning trigger about feeling excluded, reframes it from loss to an understanding that people grow and 'fly,' and reflects on the difference between limiting and limitless perspectives in relationship changes.
She invites listeners to write down every perceived constraint, look for patterns, recall past similar feelings, and consider whether there's an unresolved message to discover that can help shift toward a more expansive mindset.
Acknowledging that humans and life are messy, she recommends avoiding large new projects when constrained and instead completing small tasks—like writing or scheduling a coffee—to regain momentum and move an idea forward.
She closes the session, reiterates her name and enthusiasm, and encourages viewers to take a simple next action to continue evolving through the day.
Hello everybody, it's Monday, April 20th. Can you believe we're in April? And almost all the way through April? I can hardly believe that. My name is Jana Jules. I'm happy to be here. Mondays are always a love hate I find. We love to lean into the big things, but maybe it's that dread that it's Monday. So it's always that journey of mindset, which is really what Limited and Limitless is about is mindset. And where are we at on any given moment, any given day? So today, I'm going to say hello to everybody as they come on in and I'm gonna move forward.
If you're listening on replay, I have this pen I'd like to point. I don't know why it is. I'm letting it go. I'm gonna hold a crystal instead. Here's my crystal for today. It's a little owl. My favorite crystal, Larimar. And I have Major here with me who is actively trying to see if My little Larimar Crystal is something that could be eaten because he's very food motivated. But today, limited versus limited mindset. My first invitation to you is to take a breath. And as you're taking that breath, usually when I say that everybody starts to breathe.
Great. I do a lot of breath work. I'm a certified breath worker, so I love that you did that. Also, When you take a breath this time, when you breathe, try to go slow. And my invitation to you is, what do you feel as you breathe? Where do you feel the breath? So as I take that breath, I feel a little Not pain, but you know, like if I did take a pen and I started like poking it on my rib cage, I felt that there. On my next breath, I just feel a little more calm. That pain actually went away. Must have just been like a bubble.
And the last one, I actually feel it shift in my mind. I start to feel like my brain is starting to find a calm. So when I'm thinking about limited versus limitless, it's about finding the space and then what's happening inside that space. So for me this morning, be fully transparent, I feel like I'm working with some of my seventh grade teenager girl emotions. What do I mean by that? I have an adulting experience that I feel like I am being kicked out of a circle, right? A circle or a group of people that I've been with.
Now is this reality? No. Is it adult relationships evolving and changing because of new work dynamics or life circumstances? Yes. I know this, but what happens is how do I feel? So right away this morning, I checked in with a friend of mine and they also had an experience this morning that sent them in a little bit of a spiral. And we laughed because we both decided that there's a younger version of ourselves that maybe needs a chance to be listened to, to be held, to be remembered and acknowledged.
So my walk this morning, I started thinking about that. My seventh grade self, I'll share this story and it will tie into limited versus limitless. My seventh grade Jean. I was curious, still curious. I love people, still love people. But my seventh grade self, because we moved around so much, thought that the only way that I could really get friends is if I gave them gifts all the time. Now, my love language isn't receiving gifts. I love them, don't get me wrong. But my love language is really about quality time, presence, physical presence.
Maybe it's touch, but really I would say right now today it's quality time, not gifts. But because I didn't know people and I was still figuring out my strengths of understanding the uniqueness of everybody. I would try to get to know like something that was really important to everybody and then give them a gift. Even if I didn't have the money or I couldn't ask my mom and dad for money, I'd come up with something or I'd take something that I had and I would just personally give it to them. And how that's shown up in my adult life is When I really believe in the unlimited potential of somebody, but I see them limiting their own beliefs, I want to do something to tap into that potential, to offer them an opportunity, maybe advice, but really it's about breaking down barriers.
and setting them up for success so they can maybe not struggle in the same way I did or maybe they just have somebody that believed in them. Now, here's how that can show up. Once someone has gotten to the place where they needed or wanted to get to, they could leave and our relationship isn't the same anymore. they could maybe just not appreciate it anymore. Because like a butterfly, in order for us to really lean into our strengths, into our own potential, we have to struggle a little bit to get there.
So sometimes my desire to help, my passion, my love, of helping people be seen and create opportunities can also sometimes stifle that butterfly from exercising their muscles that they need to fly. So this morning, my limited belief was, gosh, I'm losing all my friends again. But my limitless perspective where I need to shine the light is to simply remember that I myself hate getting help all the time. I actually get a little stubborn like I don't want you to do that. I want to do that. And so when I look back on it all and I reflect, it's not about loss, right?
It's not about feeling that I'm losing everything. It's about having an understanding of maybe what a different role I played or how this person's success is is because they decided to fly. Not because of the potential I saw, but because of the potential they finally started to see in themselves. It doesn't change that I'll always help everybody I can. It doesn't change that I'll break down barriers if barriers need to be broken or find the perfect gift to help someone feel seen. I'll always do that.
It's in my DNA. But I also have the possibility to remember and go back and illuminate light on a place that I felt what I feel today or felt today, which was kicked out or forgotten about. When you really, truly lean in from a place of love, you're not forgotten, right? That individual or those individuals may just be ready to fly and relationships will evolve. People change, we grow, we level up in our experiences and we circle back around. The good ones, they circle back around. So a limiting belief can feel constricting and small.
A limitless belief might feel unrealistic or impossible or maybe that for someone else but not for me. So what if we just found a space in the middle That was simply possibilities and we didn't attach to them. Possibility that I'm more than enough for this new job. Possibility that I am an incredible friend and that our friendship has made a special mark in a special place in time. And now it's evolving to the next iteration where we get to meet at the same place. Mindset is a tricky, tricky thing.
And there are always gonna be days where our mindsets are gonna take us in a spiral and we might feel limited. But my invitation is on those days where you feel the most constrained, Write down all the constraints on a piece of paper, every single dramatic one that you feel. Trust me, I can be pretty dramatic when I write and I am just getting it all out or have that trusted person that you can just say it all to. Get it out. Let it go. And then you can look to see what the pattern is. You can ask yourself, have I felt this way before?
Likely yes. And if yes, what was those circumstances? What was that set of circumstances? And have I healed from that? Maybe yes, maybe no. But there's probably a little bitty message inside of there waiting for you to discover it. And once you tap into that tiny, tiny little piece and you connect to maybe what's really at the heart of that limited mindset, you may not go full board, limitless, unlimited possibility, but you may start to make a forward step into a new mindset, new way of thinking, and maybe healing something along the way.
Because we're human. Humans are messy. Life is messy. Life is beautiful. And there's a whole spectrum in between. So today on this Monday, I've already started with a little limited mindset. I've already been triggered into an old wound and I've already had a conversation with someone so that we could share what was happening in this moment. And then I didn't feel alone. I didn't feel isolated with my feelings, even though their experience was different. And now today, as I sit here, I get to start to tap into what are going to be the more expansive ways that I can lean into the rest of my day.
It doesn't even have to be the rest of the week. Just the rest of my day, the next hour. What's one thing I can do in the next hour that will help me feel a little more settled? Maybe that's going for a run, going for a walk with Major, maybe doing some writing. And when I'm in these limiting mindsets, my last little tidbit for you, I don't start something new. And I might not lean into a big project right now unless I had to for work. Instead, I might just work through something really small so that I can start to replenish that feeling of accomplishment, success, that I am exactly where I'm meant to be right now.
If I have that big hairy idea, some of you might be motivated to be like, yeah I'm motivated now I'm gonna get after it. Some of you might be like me and just like gosh I can't do that yet but I can do one thing to help that idea still move forward and maybe that one thing is just writing. Maybe that one thing is setting up a coffee date with somebody that you can tell this idea to or that somebody who will help that idea move forward. So not everything has to be huge and grandiose, limitless. Sometimes it's just pulling the string so that we don't feel so limited.
So my name is G and it's Monday and we're back, excited to see what happens next as I continue to evolve and to see what happens next with all of you. And I hope you all have a a great next step of the day.
