Little run turned into a mind game, and the body/mind can do some incredible things.
Luke: Happy Monday to you and yours. Hope everybody's doing well. This is the. The samples feel us shaking. It's going to be a great week for everybody.
Drew Heller: How could you make an impact on one person? Heller: My baseline for Sunday was three. He challenged himself to get one extra mile. An hour later, he was able to get not like six more miles. Heller: What in your life could be 3x?
The very first time that I ran ran, I was in College. What's more is preparation and preparing myself for that big 45 miler on May 27th for my 45th birthday. My challenge to you is to do two things. Help somebody. Lift somebody up. Do something for somebody else.
Good morning, Cadre family. It's Luke. Happy Monday to you and yours. I'm back. There's no way I wouldn't be here. Happy Monday. Happy Monday. Hope everybody's doing well. Excited for this communication today. This is the. The samples feel us shaking. The samples feel us shaking. I encourage you to give this one a listen when you get a ch. The samples feel us shaking. Good morning, everybody. I'm seeing all the names pop in here. Happy Monday to you and yours. It's going to be a phenomenal week.
I just know it. It's going to be a great week for everybody. Thanks for popping in. Number one. Just want to give a Good morning, Cadre family. Good morning, Sherry. Good morning, everybody. That's popping in. Good morning. Good morning. First, I just want to give a shout out Martin Luther King Jr. Day. What an impact of soul on our planet and our world, on us as human beings. I would encourage everybody. The odds of you making a monumental impact at that level is probably very low. But what you could do.
But what you could do is, you know, how could you make an impact on one person? Okay, we can do that. Three. Like, we can get that three done. Heller, high water. Let's go. Let's go. Get those three miles, right? So went to mile one, got done with mile one, got done with mile two. Not feeling great, wrapped up. And I got mile three done, right? So I figured it out. I made it happen. I got three miles, and then I challenged myself. And I was like, you know, what if. What if I could get, you know, one extra mile?
You know, what if I could get one more? What if I could get one more? And before you know it, like, just imagine this, right? My baseline for Sunday was three. Like, I just. I. I'm gonna do it. H*** or high water, I'm gonna do it. Didn't feel great. Like I said, just banged out ten the day before, and I was like, you know, I'm gonna. I'm gonna stretch myself a. My body and mind were kind of telling me, you're done at three. Okay. My body and my mind were telling me I was done at three. And then I'm like, all right, I'm gonna get a little electrolytes.
I'm gonna get a little bit of juice, get a little something. My guts. Let's see if we can get another mile. Fourth mile went down. The fifth mile went down. The sixth mile went. Seventh mile went down. I'm like, the h*** with it. Let's go for eight. The eighth mile went down, and then I'm like, you know what? I'm going to get the ninth. And then so I, I nailed that ninth mile. And so back to back days, I ran a 10 on Saturday and a nine on Sunday. And the message that I want you to hear from this is not the mil, it's not the output, it's nothing like that.
It's that I, I, I put a limitation on myself at three. Like I put a limitation on myself at three. That that's what I wanted to try to achieve on Sunday. And just to like think about it, you know, with an hour later, you know, I was able to get not like six more miles. So for all intents of pur purposes, I just 3x, you know, or 2x my desirable output. Well, 3x if you multiply it 2 if you take 3 and 3 two more. But if you, if you take a step back and think about that, like, what in your life, you know, could possibly be 2x?
What in your life could be 3x, you know, and I, I had this conversation with my son yesterday before bas basketball and whatnot, when I was just saying, like, you need to really become uncomfortable and you need to get insanely uncomfortable to be able to like go to these different places, Drew. And you know, I challenged myself on that, to be frank, yesterday after I challenged my son, I was like, you know, do you think, do you think I could go back there again? You think I could go back to that well and sitting on that treadmill and doing another hour and a half.
So I encourage you all to think about the things in your life doesn't have to be physical endurance. I'm just using this as the, the obvious that I just went through. But there's got to be a lot of things in your life that you must have to be asking yourself, like, am I challeng myself enough? Am I, am I pushing myself enough to 1x2x and potentially 3x my life? And you know, again, I just, I can't be more crystal clear with you all. The very first time that I ran ran, I was in College. It was 19 years old.
I was a freshman at UMD and I ran a mile. Like I ran a mile, like a true mile of like running. Like I ran a mile and I was God awful. I had to stop and walk because I was a tennis player. We do short sprints. We do all that. Rarely did we ever press ourselves to run 3 miles, 5 miles, 10 miles, like it was short sprints. Building up the endurance for 30, 45, 52nd points. You know, that's just what we did, you know. Now fast forward, you know, five years, 10 years, 20 years. You know, it's. It's. It's interesting to look back when I would say I never ran, like, truly never ran, to now to like, you know, claim and.
And propose this to myself, that I'm a distance runner. I'm an endurance athlete. Right. You know, and, you know, what's more is preparation and preparing myself for that big 45 miler on May 27th for my 45th birthday to prepare myself for that big walk around Minnesota coming up in August. Right? So in preparation, the progress happens. And what's really crazy, what's really crazy is when your mind in your body just start to connect and you're like, I'm done at three. Well, let's give one more. Let's give one more.
Let's give one more. Let's give one more. And you start to have these micro goals within the mile. So I'd look at it and I'd say, okay, let's. Let's get to. 1. Let's get to 3. 2. Let's get to 3. 3. You know what? Let's change the song at 3. 5. You know what? Let's get 4. And then at 4, let's change from hard rock and let's go change into rap. All right, so when we get to five, let's go listen to this. And then. All right, six, six, one, six, two, six. Three. Let's change the dynamics of the speed.
So then I got to play a game with myself in the recovery and the process of it. So my challenge to you is to do two things. Number one, okay, Junior day. Help somebody. Lift somebody up. Do something for somebody else. Number two, what on this planet are you holding yourself back? And you're telling yourself you're not ready to grow yet? Odds are you are. Go get it done. Have an amazing week, everybody. Thanks for participating. Thanks for showing up. I love being here with you all. Bye. Bye. Sa.
