All right. Thank you for joining me today. I didn't have much to share. I am in this space. I think I shared this last week where I'm just kind of letting go of things. I hope you guys have a great week. And I will be back next Tuesday for some more coffee chats.

Hello, Cadre. It's me, Dr. D. And guess what? My mug is empty. Well, oh, there's a little bit in there. I probably need to finish that, but I got a coffee lesson for y'. All. But first, I just want to say, happy New year. Welcome to 2026. And for those of you who are new to this space, I am Dr. Leslie Davis. I am a relationship therapist, an expert, as people like to call me. I hate that title, but I'll take it. And in this space, I like to talk about life and relationships. And so I have a coffee lesson for y', all, because coffee speaks to me.

Coffee is life. So I want to talk about this cup. Now, if you can see it, it's probably backwards to you, but it says, relax, girl. And it's my reminder to kind of just chill out sometimes. And because I can get so busy and caught up in things and caught up in my thoughts and caught up in doing things for other people, that I have to have a reminder to just relax. I have to have time to slow down, be still. And that's hard because when I'm still, it's kind of like one of those spinning tops. When it finally stops spinning, my brain is just like, keep thinking, keep thinking.

So it's hard to just. I don't know what. What it means to relax. I'm learning that, though. And if you saw the video. So Kadri did put out a video of our words for the year. And my word is minimalism. Minimal. I want to do less. So I wanted to think about how that shows up in life where we start to enjoy something, and we didn't know that it was messy, but until we got to that part where it just stopped tasting good. It stopped tasting right. And then we had to make a decision. Do we keep drinking it?

Do we keep going with the thing that we're doing that we thought was good? Or pour it out and start over, right? And I think I've been in that space for different reasons, for different things in life, where I'm getting to a space of something just doesn't feel right anymore, and that's okay. And I don't have to keep trying to work around it. I can get to the space where it's time to let it go. I can pour it out. I can choose to make a new cup of coffee. I can choose to make a new thing that I started.

And this shows up in relationships, too. We get into relationships, whether it's with friends, co workers, a job. The job is relationship, too. Y' all where we think it's great. We intend for it to be great. We can't wait to enjoy it. And then we get to a point where it's like, this is greedy. I didn't. I don't like this. This is not what I. It was. Or there was something in there that I didn't see at first, and I don't like it. And we have to make a decision. Do we keep drinking from that cup or pour it out and start all over?

So hopefully this is something that you can apply to your life. I don't know what's going on in your life, but I think that it's something to consider when we get to these spaces in our lives that are gritty and nasty and where we get to a space where we decide, this isn't right for me anymore, and that's okay. All right, so this is my other reminder. Relax, girl. Or guy, whoever's listening to this. So I hope you take the rest of the day, sometime this week and be intentional. Know about this. Relax and don't be afraid to pour out that nasty cup of coffee.

All right. Thank you for joining me today. I didn't have much to share. I am in this space. I've been. I think I shared this last week where I'm just kind of letting go of things, and so I'm trying to stay small and enjoy that moment. So. Speak wonder. Thank you for joining me today. I hope you guys have a great week. And I will be back next Tuesday for some more coffee chats. All right, bye.
