This is the last coffee chat of the year, y' All. Healthy connections in 2026, and the ones that need to die, you need to cut them off. Be with people you love and people who love you.
This is the last coffee chat of the year, y' All. Do you need to delete some people? Do you see people that you have in your favorite list? Who are some people you haven't checked in with that you should reach out to?
I'm going to get better at that next year. Healthy connections in 2026, and the ones that need to die, you need to cut them off. All right, so you guys have a wonderful New Year's Eve tomorrow. Stay safe. Be with people you love and people who love you.
Hey, Cadre. Sorry, y'. All. I was trying to warm up my coffee. I do have it today, and I'm trying to get myself situated because the light in here is a little off. It's. It's been. The weather here has been really crazy, y'. All. It was like 70 degrees the other day, literally two days ago. And then yesterday it was like 16. I hate it. I do, like, when it gets cold, but, like, it needs to stay the same temperature for a little bit so I can regulate myself, you know what I mean? But. Welcome, Michelle.
Hello, Ms. Britney. Welcome to the chat today. This is the last coffee chat of the year, y'. All. We made it. 2026 is almost here. We got, what, two more days. We're almost there. But I have been doing some reflection. I've been doing a lot of that lately, so I want to share some of my. My personal experience the past week. So the last. I would say the last two weeks, I've been going through my phone because I've been running out of space, y'. All. I have no more storage, so I had to delete videos.
I had to delete apps that I don't really use. You know, the normal things. And something prompted me to go through my contacts, and I didn't realize, like, how many contacts I had in my phone. And I. I'm one of those people that, like, I have a hard time letting go. I have a hard time letting go of people that mean something to me, whether it's like, they meant something to me a long time ago. And I just never know when I'm going to see them again. So I want to keep their phone number. And I think, because we have.
Tell me if this makes sense. I'm old school, so I used to have a phone book. Like, I would buy one and I would update it every year. But then with the use of cell phones, the numbers are just there in the phone. We don't memorize them anymore. I don't get to handwrite them, and so I never really scroll through them. I just kind of search for who I need to call, and there it is. But I never really spend time to look at who's in my contacts. So I did that the other day, and there were so many contacts in there, I'm like, I don't even know who this is.
Like, it might have just been their first name or. Or it was a first and last name, but I'm like, how do I know this person? Like, it was no one that I've spoken to in A very long time. And so some of those people I recognize I had not spoken to in years. And I wanted to reach out just to say, hey, you know, going through my contacts, who is this? Or hey, going through my contacts, and I know we haven't spoken in a while. I just want to check in. And so it made me think of two things. One, who am I going to take with me into the new year?
And that's what we're going to get into. But also, who are some people that you haven't checked in with that you need to just reach out to? And so I'll share this quick, quick little story. So I reached out to one of my old co workers. And you guys, if you've been with me for a while, you will remember that I got hacked. My social media was hacked back in Febr this year. And I lost a lot of online contacts, but I had people's phone numbers and it was hard to, like, remember, like, the spelling of people's names online because people use like an alias name or whatever.
So I lost a lot of connections. But there was one person I was like, I always thought about her throughout the year. I'm like, I wonder how she's doing. I forgot I had her phone number. So I reached out to her, I texted her, and we caught up and we had a four. Just delete them. If you want to block them and you need to check on them, I'm gonna. I'm actually gonna put some pressure on you. Do it before New Year's. So you have what's today, the 30th. You have today and tomorrow to go through your contacts and see who's there.
Do you need to delete some people? Do you need to reconnect with people? Do you see people that you have in your. Maybe it's your favorite list that is no longer your favorite. You need to move them, and that's okay. If we circle around and we move people in and out of important spaces in our lives, it's perfectly okay to do that. Some people are needed in our lives for certain times, for certain seasons. And I think it's okay for us to recognize this person is not as important to me because this new thing in my life is happening and now there's a new person.
And I'm. I'm really big on how I see relationships. Relationships evolve where if we lose a connection with someone, I guarantee you there is someone waiting either to resurface. So maybe one of those old connections you haven't had in a while. Or someone new is going to enter your life, but we have to make space for them. So this is your opportunity to make some space for who you want to get connected to and in 2026. And I hope that you all continue to connect with me in 2026 and continue coming to the coffee chats or watching the replay, which is totally fine.
I love that, too, because this is such a special space, and I am so grateful for you guys being here. Those of you who check in pretty much weekly, you know, I really am appreciative of having this time with you. I love reading the messages. I don't get to see them all while I'm talking. I have a hard time talking and reading them at the same time. I'm going to get better at that next year. But I. I'm so grateful for you guys, and I'm really just praying that everyone. Healthy connections in 2026, and the ones that need to die, you need to cut them off.
Don't apologize for that, okay? You might be doing them a favor as well. Maybe they can't let go of you, and you need to be the one to be like, you know what? We're done. And that's okay. All right, so you guys have a wonderful New Year's Eve tomorrow. Stay safe. Be with people you love and people who love you, and I wish you all a happy New Year. And I will see you guys next Tuesday at noon. All right? Bye. It.
