And we're live Cadre. This is your host Alex of Mindset, helping you flex your mind, body and soul. And today's wealth Wisdom Wednesday we're drinking a bubbly. It's PJ day in the garage with my dog because my wife's getting ready to go out for her Xmas party work Xmas party. And we're going to be talking about how small intentional actions, small daily habits compound over time in a huge way. And I've been thinking about this a lot, especially this past week. We're nearing the end of the year. 2026 is coming.
Rachel. MK55, welcome to live. Thanks for tuning in. And this, this live. It will be, I think very impactful for you guys. I've got about 10 minutes and then I gotta walk the dog. Junk food junkie. Welcome live. Thanks for tuning in because I just listened to audiobook highly recommend anyone that wants a little bit of brush up on their personal finance or personal finance habits or the power of compound interest, finance and building wealth. So wealth accumulation and wealth protection, there's like two sides of the coin is the compounding effect and the psychology behind building wealth, the psychology behind wealth accumulation and the psychology behind wealth protection.
Because they all matter. And something that the author touches on in the book is he talks a lot about the power of compounding, power of compound interest, right? Using as as long of a time horizon as possible for you to invest and build your, build your, Build your nest egg, your retirement fund over time and Pinot. Over here. Come here. Sorry, my dog's trying to run away. Over here. Papa. He's just, he's like a little toddler. He needs constant attention, otherwise. Hey, up here. Here. I'll have him sit with me.
Come here, come here, come here. There we go. There he is. Okay, so talking about this book by Morgan Housel Psychology of Money. You want to leave now? All right. And that's a big part of that book is comp like the power of a long time horizon and investing our money and saving our money, save the majority of what we make. He talks about that a lot in the book and he talks about the history of how, you know, like you don't have to be Warren Buffett to invest and save a lot of money. You can be someone that's working multiple jobs or, or a good paying full time job and you consistently are putting away money, every single paycheck consistently, whether you invest, let's say monthly or bi weekly.
If you do bi weekly, even better because more compounding, right? Because it's twice a month. So you 24 investments throughout the year versus just 12 for monthly investment. Right. So he talks about that and he talks about how one guy was a mechanic at an oil change place and he was a janitor at a school. Two jobs, worked two full time jobs, basically did that for freaking 30 years. And he invested in stock for 30 years and by the time he passed away and he had his estate that he left to his local charity, he left a bunch of money and then to his kids over $8 million over 30 years.
And he literally, literally bought enough, just enough stock like, like per paycheck. So probably just enough for like maybe one or two shares of a company. I, they didn't, I didn't get any details from Morgan House's book on like what stocks did he buy or how many shares of each that he had, but his overall estate was worth over $8 million or three and a half million dollars. And that's crazy because this guy wasn't a, it wasn't Warren Buffett, he wasn't in finance. He just knew the power of compounding and saving a lot of money, as much money as he could.
He did the best that he could with to the, for the job that he had and he accumulated eight and a half million dollars to his nest egg. Now it was crazy when I, when Morgan Housel told that story. So just goes to show, our efforts with investing and our efforts with small compounded efforts and habits towards growing our brand, our business, our career, they compound over time and never take that lightly. With these small repeated efforts over time they have a huge impact. Just like we're talking about investing in compound interest for investing.
But similarly with you have a ton of compounding cognitively when you're listening to podcasts, audiobooks, reading on your Kindle, on your regular books, the growth that you accumulate through an entire 365 days going into 2026 will be mass. So that's all that I wanted to say. I had a teacher back in high school that told us that you should put one third of your paycheck and savings and the interest will compound over the years, you, you will retire wealthy. I wish I live. Yeah, 100%. But another thing I want to say though, no matter where you are in your investment journey or say our wealth accumulation journey, a retirement journey that you're trying to get towards retirement no matter where you are.
No matter where. No matter where you're starting from. Yes. Is it more challenging when you don't know the time at the same time horizon, 30 years, you may have 10 years or 20 years. Yeah. Does it make it more challenging? Absolutely, it does. But don't count yourself out. You still have time, you still have other. There's always other options, right. And ways to build yourself a nest egg. So I just want to say that it's been top of mind for myself. And the next audiobook that I'm listening to right now is by Gary Vaynerchuk.
It's called Day Trading Attention. Day Trading Attention. We're all online, right? All of us as contributors and really what we're doing is we're competing for attention, for people's attention every day that we're on social media, that we're on, like technically Cadre, because there's lots of users, right, that use Cadre over, I think it was over 7,000 or something like that, or 9,000, like community members, right. From people that have benefits, that this is part of their benefit package, right?
Utilizing peer, peer to peer coaching, peer to peer counseling, peer to peer, Like lived experience. Right? Learning from people like other contributors on here and utilizing their wisdom and experience to better themselves mentally, physically, spiritually. That's what we're all about at Cadre. So, yeah, just want to say that I'm out my 10 minutes. I'm trying to keep these really short, really impactful and that pack a punch. So hopefully you guys all enjoy this live food for thought, listen to or read the book that's Psychology Money by Morgan Housel.
Freaking Golden Jam. It's short. I think it was only like a four and a half. Yeah. Peer to peer advice. Absolutely. Four and a half hour audiobook, really quick. And then I'm listening to the Gary Vaynerchuk one right now. It's all about branding, marketing, advertising, advertising, how does it thrive, how to succeed in the social media age. The tick tock, tick tock ification of like people want that vulnerability, authenticity. People want real. They want. Live like this. They want. They want to see Alex, they want to talk to Alex, like feel like there's a connection there.
So that's what people really want nowadays is they want to feel connected. They want to feel like they're part of a community. Community, like going back to what social media used to, to be like none of this like likes and shares and all that stuff. That stuff really doesn't matter what the stuff that matters is the community building the connection, the building people up and. Yeah, building great connections and seeing people succeed. That's what matters. And that's all I have to say hope you all enjoyed this live.
Don't forget to put the name of the book in the cadres. Your post. Absolutely. I'll do a post live post for this. I'll put the name of both books, two of my book recommendations, whether you want to read it or listen to it or on the post so you guys can all see it. Okay. All right. Have an awesome evening. Happy Wednesday. Happy hump day. Boom. Okay.
