  1. 0:02Mel Myers sings a song called I'm Just Breathing in the Fall

Cadre: Fall has its potential. This is a song that anytime I hear it in the fall, it makes me. I think this is one of those songs that reminds me that our power is also in the thin space between our doing and are not doing. Now Nam on Sundays.

Hey there. Good morning, Cadre. How are we doing today, huh? How are you doing? I hope you're doing really, really good. My name's jc. If we've never shared time and space together before, thank you for the opportunity to spend some time with you right now. Mel Myers. It's great to see you this Sunday. Jenny. Nice to see you as well. Jules. Jenny. Jules, Mel. We got a crew here on this Sunday. You know, I'm glad that I'm here. I'm glad that you're here. I know the things that I know and I care about you.

Fall has its potential. Not downsides, but hard sides. Like the shorter days, the darker mornings, the. The. The dying, right? The. The things that have come to life are now falling into their state of not being dead, their state of dying. But also I think the best thing of falling, the best little of fall, is that music sounds. Sounds better or music works better at making you kind of feel the things. I feel like we crave music differently in the fall. Hey, Marisa. Nice to see you. And this is a song that anytime I hear it in the fall, it makes me.

I think it does its job a little bit better. It's an Ingrid Michaelson song, but Leslie Odom Jr. Just released a new live album, and I was like, gosh, why do I know this song? And he was singing, this song goes like this. The storm is coming but I don't mind People are dying I close my blinds all that I know is I'm breathing Now it's such a fall song, right? Things are happening and I don't do anything about it or I don't have the capacity to care But I know that I'm breathing Second verse, same as the first.

I want to change the world Instead I sleep I want to believe in more than you and me but all that I know is I'm breathing All I can do is keep breathing all we can do is keep breathing Now Nam on Sundays. I always talk about this idea of the thin space, the space in between that everything that has been and everything that will be. Space between the goods and the bads, the rights and the wrongs, the light and the dark. Because in that space, that's where there's power. I think this is one of those songs that reminds me that our power is also in the thin space between our doing and are not doing.

Our ability to care and our ability to go and notice. I said our ability to care and our ability to. I guess sometimes you go, it's like, I just can't do. What if we flip that from the I just can't to the I am. I am doing. I am not doing. I am caring. I am not caring. Right? It's the am. It's still an action. Now, the action may be an absence of the thing that you've been trained, where your value is. But if this is a season where you go, my value's gone. See that? Your values within the breathing.

Because, you know, the thing that I love about this song is that it's not a just song. It's not. But all I know is I'm just breathing. No, I'm breathing. There's power in that, y'. All. You're still in the game. You're still here. We all are. If you need anything, let Cadre know. We'll talk to you later. I'll play y' all now.
