The Recovery Road 307 is a collective walk to raise money for behavioral health programs. With that 307,000 miles will raise a dollar for Every mile. I hope you all got to enjoy this final weekend of the Minnesota summer. September is National Recovery Month.

Good evening to everyone in the Cadre sphere. Hey, Jason Lennox here. And I am here with you tonight. Sunday Serenity, last day of August again. I'm Jason Lennox and I'm your resident recovery champion. Which simply means I'm just a champion of this work, of this recovery thing with this recovery, in this recovery, all the things and what that means for me is I'm here to talk about everything related to recovery from substance use, from mental health and general generally well being, wellness, all the things.

So happy to be here again. Sunday Serenity every seven. Every Sunday at 7pm Coming with you, I just returned home if you are in. Hey, good evening. It's great to see you if you're in the great state of Minnesota. You know, it's a beautiful day out. I just got home, just got back from the gym in a sauna which I always love doing, but came home from a week long vacation up in northern Minnesota at the cabins. Just a massive party for our family, party in a good way and you know, just always, always treasure that time.

And we've been talking in August about the word saber that's been the theme on the Cadre app. And I was just thinking as we were coming home or driving home and then I'm sitting in the gym and the sauna, it's just a little sad when these things come to an end. I think if you were with last week, you probably heard me say this was my favorite week of the year. And so there's always a lot of hype and everything leading up to it. Love when all the people start rolling in and just all the time we get to spend and the memories we get to create.

Then of course when it comes to an end, it's, it's never fun, never easy to end the week, but here we are. And so I was thinking about this word savor and I go, gosh, how do I just capture more of the feeling and the joy and everything that comes with the experiences that I get to be part of with the family. I'm just all over and I realized it's just going to come and go. This is what happens every year. And for me, I don't get caught in trying to hang on to that too tightly and being too sad or too depressed.

Minnesota summer is officially coming to an end, that the family week is over, all those things and frankly I don't do it because I don't really have a whole lot of time to. I'm gonna savor the heck out of this rest of this Sunday and this Last weekend, like I said, and a day off tomorrow. But after that it's, you know, September. And September is National Recovery month, which is a big deal for me. It's my favorite month. It's a month that I get to share. I do a lot of sharing, but I share a little more.

In the month of September, I've got a few different speaking events that I have going on. And then at the end of September, I'm taking off on a 307 plus mile walk from West Virginia through Kentucky to Tennessee. And that's going to be kind of the flagship or lead walk of a collective 307,000 mile walk from the end of September to the end of October. So that's all about 307,000 people that we lost last year to drugs, alcohol and suicide. That was 2024 alone here in the US and very, very unfortunate and just a number that's gut wrenching.

So we're going to do something about that different this year and do something big. So I really to tie back to savoring and the family and everything and not getting too caught up in that sadness. I've got to get going, I got to get ready. It's going to be a busy month, going to be a busy couple months. And this is what it's all about for me in this world of recovery is getting out and giving back and doing something bigger than, than Jason and trying to really support and make a difference in this world.

And so, yeah, savoring it. I love it. I loved the week. I'll get to sit here tonight and just enjoy it and send off some nice messages and then, you know, spend a little time tomorrow prepping for the week. But then it's go time for me and I would love to have all of you join along in that wherever you're watching from again, the 307,000 mile walk is going to be a collective walk. So a virtual walk, if you will, meaning you can do it from wherever you want, from your treadmill in your house, from walking the dog around the block, going out for a 15 mile walk, anything, I'm going to be doing 20 to 25 miles a day over a three week span.

And when we open that up and get people in to participate, we'll have some team building, some leaderboards, things like that, it's just going to be a lot of fun. But we're truly going to honor every one of those lives lost last year and do something about it. And with that 307,000 miles will raise a dollar for Every mile. So we're going to grab $307,000 and we're going to turn that into money that does something for behavioral health programs to serve our people. So that's what's going on for me again.

I'm going to finish up August here, savor every moment that I can of my little apartment. And this little couch is going to be my. Might turn that thing on. It doesn't get turned on too often, but it might come on here for a couple hours. I'm gonna enjoy that. And then tomorrow I'm gonna hit the ground running. I'm gonna record and be recording videos, of course, every week here Sunday Serenity. But I'll be recording and posting maybe daily videos of what this thing is about, what my recovery and what my journey is about and how it maybe could benefit others and hopefully get a ton of people to follow along there.

So check it out. Check the Recovery Road 307 out on Instagram, on TikTok. Come find me on any of the social platforms. You're just gonna see a lot about this and really would love to have everyone on this platform participate. I will continue to update everyone in this app, but again, it's gonna be a big deal and really hope I can get as many of the Cadre sphere out there as possible. We're all walking, we're all doing those things anyway. So this is about dedicating that time and that space and those miles to the people that are no longer here, unfortunately.

I'm glad and grateful to be one of them. And I'm not going to sit around and watch that number get bigger. We're going to make that number smaller. I'm going to do everything I can in my power with my people to do it anyway, to give it my best shot. So that's what it's about for me. And I'm going to wind down here. And again, just let you know that it'll be a big month in September. I hope you all got to enjoy this final weekend of the Minnesota summer and that, you know, if fall is your thing, that you get to enjoy September and October as we really start to kind of bring the.

Bring the new season in and the sweatshirts here in Minnesota and the campfires and, yeah, maybe even a little bit of that pumpkin stuff. So I'm looking forward to that. Hope you all are, too. And again, hope you've been able to take this final month of our summer here in August and really enjoy it. And if you have the kiddos and you're putting them back in school tomorrow. Really hope that things go well. And, you know, as many of you maybe have seen at this point, we had a terrible incident here in Minneapolis at a school this past week and, you know, some children involved and shot and a couple that didn't make it.

And so as you have kids and you're bringing them into school, I just send all the well wishes and hope everybody and all the kids especially feel safe and get to enjoy time back in school with their friends and their teachers and all the excitement and we don't have to think about some of those things. So really look forward to checking in again next weekend and again throughout this month of September just to talk about recovery and what it's about. It's National Recovery Month and it's a big deal and there's a lot happening.

It's National Suicide Prevention Months. So we have a lot going in September and a lot more in October around recovery and mental health and just the awareness that we need to bring to that. So hopefully you'll join me on some of those missions and hope to see you again back here next week. Until then, hope you all have wonderful weeks. We'll see you soon. Thanks.
