Pastor Seth Perry: Why do I call this Talk Stigma? Well, I started a project called Our Stigma, which is a turned into a podcast. As a pastor, there's a lot of stigma and faith community. So that's what I talk about on Sunday afternoons.
Why did I only make six episodes of a podcast when I could make a weekly podcast? I wanted it to be a multicultural look and an interfaith look at mental health stigma in a variety of faith communities. I've been doing two episodes a week for, I think, like 16 years. That's a lot.
Hi, my name is Pastor Seth Perry. I'm a Pastor Amer Muhammad. If you are in any way able to tell me where you're located and how are you doing today? I'd love to say hi. Basically kicking off today. Why, first of all, why do I call this Talk Stigma? com. and there's it's a limited series, six episodes. I'll get into that a little bit later. But I call this Talk Stigma because it's just a chance for me to talk and talk about the stigma that I feel because I feel it culturally, I kind of feel it in the area that I work in.
And anyway, yeah, as a pastor, there's a lot of stigma and faith community. So if you're new here, that's what I talk about on Sunday afternoons after a long day of work. So back to my I'll talk about Our Stigma then, which is the podcast that I created. And why did I only make six episodes of a podcast when I could make a weekly podcast? And I think that's the big question. I looked at it and I said, well, I want to do a podcast about mental health and my life and everything and some other issues.
I wanted it to be a multicultural look and, and an interfaith look at mental health stigma in a variety of faith communities. And I said, why would I do this every day of the week? Or sorry, like once a week for eternity. And something interesting that happened in the last eight or 10 days. Mark Marin from WTF, which is one of the longer running podcasts, was podcasting before it was mainstream, and I listened to it quite a bit. And I've seen him perform standup comedy. I saw him first perform standup comedy right around the time he started the podcast.
And Marc Maron is very funny. So I listened to him this week and he said, we're burned out. I've been doing two episodes a week for, I think, like 16 years. And so that's a lot.
